Beatrice 03:34
Walkin’ on with christs Wounds at my side Ramblin’ on with you As Higher truth Paradise, in your eyes I find truth Paradise, in your eyes I find fire Into the inferno I went to find you Painting you, every curve Of your face Painting you, every twirl Of your hair Goin’ down Virgil there at my side Swinging high With your grace as my bride Way, way It's your everyday way
2.
Alchemy and Mysticism Tell me now what is your vision? Alchemy and mysticism. I wrote you a song of days gone wrong But you took me out of time And by the way, I forgot to mention She took me to a new dimension Love cuts a line through chronology
3.
Sparrows 03:37
Clumsily I slip To the bottom of the pile. And looking up Your face is there With a thousand Ideas in an open stare. When you stuttered my way In the car-park of life The seas parted Like your shiny hair. Nothing knowable With five senses Can touch your Calm, disobedient Smile. Nothing visible With two or inner eye Can resonate like Your vibrating silence. When sparrows dance In the grey morning bliss You reflect the is.
4.
As I lay cryin’ and a dyin’ in the frosty morning A saw a little lady comin’ up to me with chocolate eyes And then she took me by my hand and told me shed relieve my burden She kissed me on my face and told me I would realise You are my roving fancy You are the flower of my soul In the winter pain And the howlin’ rain Her golden grace Her golden face And in the labyrinth You bring me down to bring me up You fill my chalice cup
5.
Face forgotten thing Remnants almost gone The scrawl of a gull The other is none other Than the heart Flitting across stones To a wave Where silence haunts stones The desert beach breeze-blow Listens, observes and apart.
6.
So comes the night and sounds the hour of the fall The days drag by and I endure Love sparkles like the light where river ripples flow And golden hope lives blow by blow Brushed by the shadows of the dead we see the dawn Poets and prophets blow their horns All the Saints and sages will return The weeping flowers caress the sky again The deities of living dew Those sacred men and women raised to higher self Have cut a line through time anew We stroll the sandy beaches taking in the wave The roar of thunder, oceans churn All the saints and Sages have returned The northern gods play drums The Devas play sitars And Jesus drinks the chalice dry All the saints and sages multiply Glory glory glory hallelujah all the saints and sages have returned

And in the darkness When I come to haunt your citadel To smell your omens and your seasons Seekers of good time Drinking from familiar streams Desires tearing up your reason What is this thing that I can see inside my mind? Is it a burning effigy? You ask the name of this low ruined man before you He is a hidden mystery. And in the twilight when the black begins to fall I walk the walls And as the moonlight Goya faces smoulder on I walk the walls
9.
Landlocked but drowning 'bravo' shouts my heart from inside and afar I blame my lucky star One hand on the cliff edge The other one clapping My tired mind maps out Empty terrain (A routine shift in an endless Complain) You said it would all be ok But the world poison kicks in And i faint on an empty train. But meanwhile in the cage The prison stinks of same Easier that way. The mirror mocks my chain Thank God for work again
10.
To break a promise to someone you loved Will shake your soul and make you lose your sleep. You’ll wade a nightmare world so deep Where nothing’s right and nothing left to keep Is it God and angels pounding you to make the change, To realise the great mistake you made? To take the knife of guilt and use it as a blade, Or is it just a mind clogged in a daze? Whichever way, it kneels and begs and whines Or clambers to a higher falls to find Waters where it may be cleansed of crime And find a truth which stretches beyond time When the world of things dissolves away I will be there, nothing to do or say.
11.
Silent and amazed i am a child again Silent and amazed i take your hand Broken is the darkness of my ignorance Knowing that i’ll soon be goin' home I never knew how much i needed this before Never knew the truth was there to grasp All I ever wanted was a chance to see And all i ever needed was to ask There at the end of your road Where the cherry blossoms grow I will stand outside your door And wait for answers (Feels like you’re never goin' home)
12.
See Christ’s bloody hands Drawing me to Him And chest to chest He whispers Hear His breath "Where's the heart, The jewel I gave you? Where's the snake, The sword to slay you." Smell the jasmine White pink flower on lips And other scarlet openings Doors to push and wade to Him. The heart sings or the mind's lament? The old songs now hang coarse and rent. Break the ice and melt the snow Where the dawn leads I must follow
13.
Death 06:58
Death stood by the door. The gilded night has ravaged me. Self creaks under the strain of me. The curtain call and ego crawl footfall. And death asks for yet more A pattern to the suffering A break in the monotony The answer to a riddle left unsolved. And death will chalk the score A muddle of philosophies A never ending tragedy A whistle from a wolf who needs to claw And death is tireless yet He lounges in subconsciouses And deals the cards he thinks are his But he is only working for the law But death why come for me? I have nothing to offer you My best is gone but yours is too I'm rotting but theres still love at the core
14.
Another day in a sea of faces Perceptions, images, places The here and now is a sacred cow Who shakes her bell And showers graces Consciousness, awareness, bliss Not this, not this A day will come when the heart is fully grown and the day will not exist for i am away from every social scene every mind-game party, every mood that swings tho the yo-yo will rise and fall one learns to grow above it all looking out over rooftops and when the other has ceased to smother and becomes integrated the child within will dance and sing to emptiness, satiated.
15.
The clever men are posturing They wised up to the art And all those pretty college frocks Are falling at their feet A rumble in the jumble All voices are a curse Just a no-one doin’ nothing in an empty universe The maniacs are maddening They’ve crayoned out my face From the walls of padded lunacy And eaten up my space A sense you can depend on Till they throw you from the hearse Just a no-one doin’ nothing in an empty universe The sun and moon are tripping In a sea of round the bend My food is made of elements I cannot comprehend My bowels are on fire My bladder fit to burst Just a no-one doin’ nothing in an empty universe The drinking man's a drunkard And the working man's a tool They frighten you with poverty Obesity and school A zoo jailer, a cosmonaut, A scribbler of verse Just a no-one doin’ nothing in an empty universe Well the future's a delusion That you think you can undo But the absolute has planned it all And just makes you think you do It only seems a madhouse Arcadia in reverse Just a no-one doin’ nothing in an empty universe
16.
I found him alone in the forest Sitting by a campfire waiting He motioned me to sit Quietly beside him And muttered to me Only through his silence And pulling out a card That showed a pointed star He motioned to the sky And slowly sighed Soon there will be Great changes coming A higher truth will be Restored again The mother will merge With the father Their sons and daughters Golden

Scratch the surface and there’s something there Scratch the surface and it’s flesh blood and bone Mind’s your own it leads you deeper and down Scratch the surface and it’s mind of it’s own History of the world in three and a half minutes Three or four kings and a couple of Mystics Towering statues, temples of gold A pair of big row boats, the lovers of old And we’ve been lovers now so many times Don’t you remember those old chat up lines? Rebirthing, regressions, going back in time I was Cleopatra, you St Valentine I was a slave girl, you the boy who made shoes shine Dredged through vagueness, illness, nursery rhymes Hearts will break, hearts will be put back together again Souls will surface, souls will be submerged again I’m tapping into something that goes beyond the mind Play with the senses then leave them behind Look behind the madness and there’s no one there Stare down the darkness and there’s no one who stares It’s unfair to speculate on the nothing at all It’s a cheat to tell you that there’s anyone born. In the Bible Jesus died but who was reborn? All that’s left’s a veil of myth, a crown of thorns.

about

Recorded in Granada, Spain, “Songs for Mystic Lovers” is an autobiographical rambling treatise of folk, blues and rock and roll. An alchemic mix of Love, spirituality and cosmic drama.
My Love and gratitude go to the kind and humble musicians who worked with me on this project: Alberto Ávila Casas, Javi Rodríguez, Javi Cantudo and Tony Molina. Also to the fantastic Aroa Huertas for her vocal work.

Love and adoration also for Victoria Rodríguez for her marvellous artwork.

My special thanks go to Marisol and José from Sweet Mary Records and to the producers Jose Boni and Pedro Izquierdo for their tireless work.

Love to all!
